Iced Coffee : Natural Pre-Workout Boost

Iced Coffee instead of Pre-Training Supplement

I love the extra adrenaline rush from caffeine but it can lose its magic.

The trick is to not drink coffee, tea or caffeinated drinks regularly. Regular consumption builds up a tolerance and you end up needing more of it to get the same effect. I brew a strong iced coffee maybe once or twice a week before training to avoid building up that tolerance. I'm not a fan of putting those other popular pre-workout supplements and their chemical mixes into my body even if the FDA/USDA deems them safe. I trust coffee's hundreds of years of history over a chemical derivative or additive from recent times. There's no way of knowing its long term effects among other things.

Here's how I make an iced coffee for big gains:

Ingredients

  • Coffee
  • Ice cubes
  • Milk or cream (optional)
  • Sugar (optional)

Directions

  1. Brew the coffee extra strong. You need to do this because the ice cubes will dilute it when it melts. (Or you can use ice cubes made out of coffee instead.)
  2. Fill a cup with ice cubes and pour the coffee over them and stir.
  3. Add milk/cream and/or sugar.
Simple. Natural. Tastes like dessert.

Thanks and when you look at the ingredients of other pre-workout supplements, caffeine is the main one.

Great to see another person drinking the ice coffee. I have done this for years as a pre workout. I try to stay all natural. I prefer not to use a store bought pre-workout. Good old Ice coffee has always worked for me.
